To mark what would have been Brother James's 94th birthday on 23 May 2019, a new book about him was launched at RTU.

Written in Tamil by Father Arockiaraj, the book's title is “Oru Kadavul Manithanin Kal Thadangal”, which roughly translates as "Footprints of a God-man". Writing it was a true labour of love for Father Arockiaraj, who spent months editing his own journal entries, collecting material on Brother James and carrying out interviews with those who were close to him, listening to their insights and experiences.

The photograph below shows Sister Anastasia, a personal friend of Brother James, with Father Arockiaraj at the book launch.

In other remembrances of Brother James, 150 RTU alumni and their families attended the 14th RTU Alumni Reunion on 19 May. The gathering is pictured below.

At the beginning of the day, they visited the J K Meditation Hall to place roses and say a special prayer at Brother James’s grave.

Joined by Father Antony Paulsamy and some current residents, the alumni shared their memories of Brother James, gave thanks for the opportunities their time at RTU had given them and re-affirmed their support for RTU as it continues to provide shelter, love and care to future generations of poor and disadvantaged children like them in its Children's Villages.
