Brother Lionel taught at St Peter's School in Southbourne and made a lasting impression on so many of his pupils. When he left to go first to Sri Lanka, and then to South India, he wrote fascinating letters about his work and the awful poverty he encountered.  In 1974 he founded Reaching the Unreached to help the most disadvantaged children and families in remote rural villages in Tamil Nadu and called on the Old Boys to help raise funds.  Staff, pupils and past pupils have been raising funds for Reaching the Unreached ever since.  The Brother Lionel Sponsored Walk has been taking place for many years, superbly organised by former pupil, John Duffy, and his band of helpers.

Sadly, Brother died in 2017 but his work and the projects he founded goes on to give orphaned children and those living in desperate conditions the support they need to overcome poverty and lead independent and dignified lives.

Please help support this year's Sponsored Walk.  Funds are urgently needed to help those whose livelihoods have been destroyed by the pandemic and strict lockdowns.
